Which Sony Xperia phones support eSIM?
Sony brought eSIM to its Xperia range in 2021–2022. The Xperia 1 and Xperia 10 lines have supported it ever since, as did the Xperia 5 IV and 5 V.

Exceptions and things to know
- eSIM availability on Xperia phones can depend on the region and on the carrier that sold the phone, including Japanese carrier versions.
- Carrier-locked Xperia phones need to be unlocked before adding a travel eSIM.
How to check your Sony Xperia

Open the Phone app and dial *#06#. If an EID (a 32-digit number) is listed, your phone has an eSIM chip.

Go to Settings > Network & internet > SIMs and tap "+" or "Add eSIM". If the option is there, eSIM is enabled.

Make sure the phone is carrier-unlocked: a phone locked to your carrier will refuse a travel eSIM from another provider.

No, the Xperia 1 III is not on the list. In the Xperia 1 line, eSIM starts with the Xperia 1 IV.
